1825daysfromnow: I wonder if I’ll be any better at paying bills.
Aug 27th
submitsecrets: I leave twenty dollar bills in my girlfriends house. I’ll hide them, in books, underneath desks, in bookshelves etc. Her family is extremely poor & I want to help out. They think it’s an angel.

The oxymoron →
Being poor never felt so good sometimes. I had close to 1000 dollars in my account about 20 minutes ago, and then, PRESTO!, gone in a heartbeat! Did i shop? Eat? No, no, no my dear friends, it was paying bills that made my account go down to a whopping 30 bucks! You see! I love to shop! I feel everyone will agree with me on that one but I know its true. And if all that money stayed with me, it...

that I’m not going to have enough money to eat at all the places I want to eat. Or take a trip in the fall. Unforeseen medical bills all summer, having to buy a car, not working for 2 weeks and an additional 2 weeks of part time work…. just not working out in my favor.  I still have a few large bills coming up as well and I can’t afford to do anything fun. I need that money. I haven’t gotten...

Meaghan O'Connell on 20-somethings (an outtake...
Bundle: Did you see that New York Times Magazine article about 20-somethings?  Meaghan O’Connell: I read the first few pages of it, and then realized the particular profundity in spending an hour at work reading an eight-page trend piece about how 20-somethings can’t get anything done and closed the tab. This story has been written roughly ten thousand times — and probably...

– Elizabeth Warren commenting on income increases between 1970 and 2005.  In other words, the bump we’ve seen in income since 1970 is purely based on families having two people in the workforce, each of those people making less than they would have a generation ago when adjusted for inflation. hooraythebluesofeveryone: You buy coffee in quarters just so you can use their internet. You make brownies in a home made tinfoil pan. You’re saving that 1/8th of a water bottle of gin for a ‘special night’. You play UNO somewhere around 8 times a night just for something to do.

Cheap RV Living →
azspot: Roomier than a car, but cheaper than an RV, a retrofitted van makes a cool inexpensive house. Once popular during hippie days, the ancient American tradition of modifying a van is undergoing a resurgence as rents continues to rise. More folks each year commute from work and then park their home, instead of parking in front of it. On this lovely free website, you can find inspiring...
