MasterCard offers card aimed at Muslims →
justinkozuch:
I had no idea that Muslims weren’t allowed to own credit cards that charge interest. Fascinating.
From the article:
With the iFreedom Plus Mastercard, holders load up their card with cash in advance, up to $6,000. Each purchase draws down on the account without accruing interest.
The concept follows the Islamic principle that finance should be backed by owned assets. It was...

lols:
It’s true.
$8.52 Groceries from the organic market down the street. Note to self: don’t go there anymore. All I got with $8.52 was 4 (not even a dozen) rolls of toilet paper, a small bag of brown rice and soy milk.
$1.95 Milk and a donut (my prize for 5:30am wakeup). At least it wasn’t coffee ^_^

Do something that you like. Forget about the pay for Christ’s sakes. Regulate your style of living, your lifestyle, to fit your income. Just have fun in your job, that’s the main thing. Too many people think, “Well I’ve gotta make so much money, I’ve gotta get this kind of a paying job.” And it’s a strain to make ends meet. Everybody that I’ve ever seen that enjoyed their job were very...

Would you be willing to pay someone $80/hr. to slice your apples for you? You might be doing it already.
Pre-sliced apples seem silly to us (and kind of gross? HOW DO THEY KEEP THEM FROM GETTING BROWN!?). But a bag of lettuce or baby-fied carrots? Totally on the shopping (and over-spending) list.
